I have no idea why they still have it up, because there were wires and conduit coming out of the ground from where the controls were clearly ripped from the pole.
I have no idea why they ever needed it. Yes, BC was a major target within Michigan along with Saginaw and Midland for a nuclear strike. But the EOWS line was in production at the end of the Cold War. I would contact the EMA, because this is a mystery which has been bugging me.

Control boxes ripped out? Theft maybe?

There wasn't a trace of any boxes at the pole, and there was about 6' of conduit with wires coming out of the end coming out of the ground next to the 812.

Nice picture. I wish the EOWS 812 was facing towards you. Oh well. Wait were you on the boat when you took this picture? Or were you on the ground. Sad to hear someone ripped the SriaTone control box of the EOWS 812 pole.
