Hey JasonC, how did you find the siren in Cary? I remember hearing it during a tornado warning, but no other times than that. Can you tell me more about the Fedelcode Model 5 and Darley Champion?

Those two sirens are a the former Western Wake fire station #2 (formerly Yrac VFD). The Darley dates back to at least the 1930's when it served with Cary FD. That station closed in 2008 and the sirens were left on the pole. They are still there to this day. You could probably try and get them from the private owner if you were so inclined, but they aren't active anymore.

Does the Harnett County GIS show ALL the sirens? I could not find them on the Harnett County GIS website.

It's such a wonder how you managed to get all this information in a single map. How do you do it? Are you a native of the Carolinas?

I have a new siren location that I just remembered from the back of my head.
Darley STH-10, at Camp Durant in Carthage, NC.
35.337878, -79.553179
It goes off whenever someone goes missing, or a Flash Flood Warning, Severe Thunderstorm Warning is issued.
It also goes off on Monday every week in the summer, to give the Boy Scouts a "wake up call".
I have gone there as a boy scout, and it went off at 7 am. It is activated by a lever in the nearby building. I did the honors once for a Flash Flood Warning!
Couldn't hear for another hour.
P.S. I almost drowned and got dehydrated. Ironic!

Where did you see the Modulators? There is a Modulator on the campus of Meredith College (which I helped install ahhh bunch o' years ago), but the City of Raleigh Flood Warning System is MCP - based amplifier & cabinet, with older EOWS-115 siren head on top of the pole.

There are Modulators on campus of UNC-CH, and Duke, but i've never tried to find all of them. Not my neighborhood. :

I saw the modulator on one of your locations for the Flood Warning Sirens. I forgot the number though. I have seen Duke's modulators.
