How could I have forgotten Byron Reickman (or Rieckman) in my list of old timers, Byron has been here for quite awhile too. He was the first to introduce a siren recording of the Darley STH-10 from Esterline, SD (I think it was Esterline...something like that) and also posted one of the first recordings of a 2001 from Dupree, SD (along with thier 3T22). Sorry Byron! Another one was Jay Miller with his club SECA (Siren Enthusist Club of America) where I met Dan Drega the first time. Of course Adam Pollack was in the group as well, he has been around since the beginning.

I'm holding my breath too. This is making me want to call my friend Brad and ask him if he can look for any old Louisville siren recordings he might have. My grandpa may even have one or two from the 1980's around somewhere.
Jason, are these going to be posted here on the board, or on some special website?

It's amazing the crappy quality of most of these files. Youtube really has spoiled us.
And since Dave is salivating at the mouth for a recording, here are a couple of oldies to tease you guys:

Josh, I'll have it all posted here along with some other fun tidbits when the Siren Board turns 10
And before I forget, a big thanks to NanSiren for sending me the mooing thunderbolt!

::insert the curse word of your choice here:: This is just not my day. 1st my replacment never showed up at work and the opening supervisor had to relieve me at 7:30am (was suspose to be out at 5am), the CD I had of some of the old contest recordings on, that my g/f found this morning is cracked just about in half, and now neither files will open for me

. ::sigh:: oh well I look forward to hearing those oldies but goodies.
EDIT: WMP wouldn't play them, but real player did. Now those made my day. Still kills me that CD is cracked

Hey Jason, is there any way you could get these files on a more accessible and safer hosting site, such as FileDen? I could convert the Wav files to MP3 if needed.

I found the Super Banshee recording (entry 19). I will email it to you.
I also found a lot of other recordings/videos from circa 2004.
