well, not to confuse things anymore, but the model A/D/L will "run" on 12 VDC since they have series universal motors. they'll just run reeeeeaaalllly slowly.

seriously, I could post a video if I feel like it; I have a DC power supply at work that can go from 1 to 90 volts. with the 110 volt model D I have, it takes about 13 volts DC before the thing will even start spinning on its own.

If you want to record a video, you can. I kind of have an idea of what they sound like. I would like to hear how they sound though, full power and 12vdc.

I'm also going up to Ely MN this weekend. Anyone know and good sirens up there? I think there might be a tbolt :)
