I don't live anywhere near Denver to make sure they don't scrap them, and I'm not a freak either.

Just like to add for the people trying to figure out what happened to them...

"The City of Denver had placed sirens in a dumpster.
(I had been in contact with the City since March, 2012 about obtaining sirens to be scrapped. They had no problems donating scrapped sirens and also had me contact two people at Federal Signal who would be installing 2001s and be in charge of removing old sirens.
Sirens were being removed and taken to be scrapped. No one called or e-mailed.
When I found out, I immediately e-mailed.
A man called and said I'd have to get what was in the dumpster before it was hauled away that afternoon!!!
From the last dumpster of sirens I obtained two H.O.R. sirens without housings.
The Thunderbolt sirens were too big and heavy to take any home by myself.

These H.O.R motors are wired for 220 Volts.
Was considering wiring to 110 volts but then the draw is 24 amps which exceeds our 110-Volt circuit breakers.
In the dumpster was a huge Model 5-looking siren. The top's 4 bolts all broke as I tried to unscrew them, so it came off quickly! Huge single-tone rotor/stator. Sounded pulses when I reached town and turned it. Wish I could have saved it but I would need a crane to lift it out.
Rain and powerful lightning was approaching before I could investigate it further."
