I don't know if you mean to, but you are coming across as extremely condescending ("Yeah, might wanna" reads very forceful when you have no body or para language to back it up).

The other thing is, I'm not sure where the your posted is targeted since it has been a week since the last post in the thread, but I do want to point out that thread was started 6 years ago and was last posted in 3 years ago. A lot can (and likely has) changed since then.

What causes the pitch to jump this high? Last time I checked, there isn't a Terminal 8 on a thunderbolt. Maybe it has what those thunderbolts in Hawaii have with the pitch. Something about having to be greased up I think

That's caused by the blower turning the wrong direction, essentially becoming a vacuum pump instead of a supercharger. Since it's drawing air in from the chopper toward the blower, it seems to cause the chopper motor to spin faster than it normally would had the blower been turning the proper direction and creating an air load on it. This also causes a significant decrease in output volume, though still louder than it would be if only the chopper were running alone. It's a somewhat common issue on Thunderbolts with a three phase blower motor, especially if anything to do with its power source or controls has been tampered with since installation (i.e. siren was moved from original location, utility work was done inside the building it's mounted on, etc).

That makes sense, as the Baseball field thunderbolt in Wichita KS has the same wiring problem.

Suprisingly, i found a STL-10 on Fire Station #1, Thornton, CO, i was confused and excited at the same time, heres a picture (its pretty beaten up).

The 2t22 mentioned by I76 is located in brush Colorado. Brush also has a thunderbolt on top of city hall and a Whelen vortex by the elementary school. My siren identification isn't the best so bare with me! Ft Morgan has a bench grinder like siren downtown by main and beaver street on top of a building as well as two tall Whelen sirens on either end of town. Fleming has a sd10 by hwy 6 and Logan and a model 2 by the football field. Haxtun has a newer sentry off of hwy 6, and one down town with something that resembles a trash can with a round top with projectors. Holyoke has sentrys scattered. Sterling has been mentioned but their thunderbolt didn't activate this year during testing. Merino has a model 5 I think on the water tower. Peetz has a new sentry behind the fire hall. Illif has something odd on the water tower and a bench grinder style behind the old grade school. Crook has a one on the water tower as well.

Can you show us pictures of the oddball siren on the water tower and the bench grinder siren?
