Thats a cool photo! I did not think the Mobil Directos were as old as that. I thought they were originally from the early 1960s. That projector design on the Mobil Directos which was later used though changed with different materials & bottom intake enlarged on the Allertors had a good run, nearly 30 years from the early 1950s to 1979.

I wonder if there are any surviving specimens of that Australian rotating siren. That photo was taken in Jakarta, Indonesia, so perhaps other sirens exported from Australia are still in existence.

Well it isn't really a vintage photo, but its a vintage video of the Hawaii tsunamis in 1986 and 1994. In the video you can hear alot of thunderbolts.

Very nice find, it's pretty funny when that lady is trying to talk over the thunderbolts.
