I think this thing is a siren because I see ports (I think).

The chopper and stator on it looks like that of a Siro-Drone siren.

It could be a Siro-Drone, but the top shroud is not meant to spin. The shroud on the one in Toledo just came loose.

that was a federal model 7 with a custom shroud. i believe it was recently removed

It's sort of hard to see inside of the cupola. I'm not very good with Weltex sirens, so I couldn't tell you... I even have a hard time identifying a siren such as a Model 5 without housing.

Weltexes are the so-called "Paint Can" sirens.

Sorry to bump a 3 year old post, but I've been down that road countless times (I'm even going down it today, I have a doctors appointment nearby) I don't see a fire department or the siren, and the weird thing is that there is a FD very close by with a wrecked Model 5.
