If you look at the roof of that building from one of the telescopes at Newport on the Levee, you'll see there's a small garden and some chairs up there. Not sure exactly what it's used for.carexpertandy wrote:Oh, so you are allowed to go on the roof! I wonder if anybody has ever been up there when it went off!nickrusche wrote:Months ago, on this fourm, there was a mention of the Thunderbolt on top of the Park Place Apartment Complex in downtown Cincinnati. My dad's sister and her husband (my Aunt and Uncle) have an apartment in that building and two years ago, they had Christmas Day Dinner. After dinner, they took us up to the roof to show us the magnificent view of the city and the Ohio River. Long story short I got to see the Thunderbolt close up. It was pretty neat.
On a semi-related note, there may be hope for that old TBolt at the Hudepohl brewery on the western edge of downtown. According to Queen City Discovery, Cincinnati is working on suing the owners of that complex since they haven't kept it up and it's become a huge eyesore (not to mention a rather dangerous site).
