Months ago, on this fourm, there was a mention of the Thunderbolt on top of the Park Place Apartment Complex in downtown Cincinnati. My dad's sister and her husband (my Aunt and Uncle) have an apartment in that building and two years ago, they had Christmas Day Dinner. After dinner, they took us up to the roof to show us the magnificent view of the city and the Ohio River. Long story short I got to see the Thunderbolt close up. It was pretty neat.

Oh, so you are allowed to go on the roof! I wonder if anybody has ever been up there when it went off!

If you look at the roof of that building from one of the telescopes at Newport on the Levee, you'll see there's a small garden and some chairs up there. Not sure exactly what it's used for.

On a semi-related note, there may be hope for that old TBolt at the Hudepohl brewery on the western edge of downtown. According to Queen City Discovery, Cincinnati is working on suing the owners of that complex since they haven't kept it up and it's become a huge eyesore (not to mention a rather dangerous site).

Yeah, I realize it's been inactive for 20-something years. However, if they end up knocking down that building (which is more than likely what they'll have to do at this point), Clayton could save the TBolt and restore it for use somewhere else.

Keep in mind that the Hudepohl TBolt has been decomissioned since 1987, according to the EMA.

It probably got decommissioned due to the power to the building being disconnected. Andy any way of finding out about it? What are EMA's plans for it.

I found that out from Dana months back, and it doesn't sound like there are any plans for it. I'm assuming it will remain standing until the building comes down. Because of it being decomissioned for that long, the EMA hasn't been able to keep any records of it.

I wonder about the Thunderbolt in Lockland. It's on top of that old abandoned factory, and I noticed in April that the building was starting to be demolished, and the TBolt was still up. I know it was still running when the factory closed, because I've seen it in different positions over the years, but I don't think it's moved at all since April at least, because the times after that I've passed it when the sirens have sounded, I don't think the position has changed.

Went driving around in Butler County today... Turns out that the 1212 in Shandon is still there, as is the old fire siren next to it.

The only other siren I saw while driving around was a 2001 in Millville (on US-27 just south of the intersection with SR 129).

I thought I had mentioned that awhile back. There is a t-128 on Layhigh rd. and Black rd.

I didn't go up Layhigh. I spent most of my time along SR 129 and SR 126.

Nobody yet has taken any photos of the T-128 on Black, but we do have Mike Hill Dr and Layhigh Rd already.

Wish I'd remembered there was one on Black. I wasn't too far from there. Will try to get a picture of that one soon.
