Low mounted Sirens in US

The angled cones were an attempt to create a more efficient siren - look at the Banshee series of sirens; they have angled walls around the stator.

Did that make ANY difference whatsoever?
Maybe micro-dB increase - which I would like.

Were they straight walls, or exponentially curved?
If you're going to do that at all, I'd at least make them exponential.

Well I read on Wikipedia, that siren in Nice,France that it is still operational.

France maintains a nationwide siren system, and almost all of them look similar to this one. They are the only sirens in Europe, as far as I know, that have projector horns.
