I removed it from here and put it into the unique mounts topic on the Off-Topic forum.

It comes close to the pole but does not hit it, actually in the video ^ you can see a shadow on the pole as the horn faces it.

I saw that one on my Fiery Foods Festival siren hunt last month!

That's somewhat disappointing that the blower isn't spinning the right way. Someone should really start saying something to these cities and towns when it's discovered that one isn't running right, though then again it seems like most times they'll just have that "whatever, you don't know what you're talking about" sort of attitude when you try to point that out to them. Great video nonetheless, I still like the way they did that installation.

The building next to the siren on the pole is a fire department. With how low that siren is, I bet it is used for fire calls/activations.

What does the height of a siren have to do with its purpose?

I'm just saying that the siren doesn't have to be high mounted being by a (short) fire department. The siren's sound only has to carry what - 50 yards toward the building?

*facepalm* Fire department sirens aren't used to alert people in the fire station. They can do that a lot more easily and cheaply with a bell or PA inside the building. They're used to call out off-duty/volunteer firefighters to the station to respond to a fire call. So yes, the sound does need to carry enough to cover the entire area where they live.
