I know it was operational for several years after the factory closed, but for the past several months, I've seen it pointed in the same direction. It makes if the power is turned off in the factory since they appear to be knocking it down now, or it could have a malfunction. Nick, was it pointed WSW when you saw it?

If any of you are wondering if the Thunderbolt on the old Fire Station 51 in College Hill is still up, I checked yesterday, and it is still up, although I don't know if there's still power running through.

Andy,

When I saw it, I was heading North on I-75. The horn was pointed towards South I-75.

Does this help any?

Yes, thanks Nick. How you're explaining it, it sounds like it's in the same position as the past few times I've seen it.

There hasn't been an active STH-10 in Campbell County since my interest in sirens started about a year and a half ago.

The only mechanical siren in that area is a 2001 on a pole behind the fire station in Dayton (7th street between McKinney and Dayton).

Just out of curiosity, how come some of the t-bolts have gone to the city maintenance yard after removal and some have gone to Werden Electric after removal?

The ones that went to the city's maintenance yard were TBolts that were installed in the City of Cincinnati, and removed by Clayton Werden, while the ones at Werden Electric were also removed by Clayton, but not located in the City of Cincinnati, they were located in other areas. I think they City of Cincinnati wants their sirens for a reason I don't know. The last time I was there, there was just one sitting outside.

Ok.

Any idea what happened to the Hartwell Elementary Thunderbolt?

Jason told me that they had removed it and had plans to repair it and reinstall it elsewhere...

That actually came down due to contstruction needed for the school. As far as I know, it's not going back up anywhere, and one of the city council members wants battery backup sirens for the city since none of the city's sirens have it.

Does anybody know if the sirens were activated for a very short period of time between January 6th and today? The reason why I am asking is; today while driving with my mom when she was running errands we drove past the Harrison Avenue T-128 and it was facing a different direction than it was after the January 6th test. After that test it was facing towards the Showcase Cinemas. Today when I passed it, it was facing in a different direction. Maybe a growl was done to blow the snow out the horn. Does anybody know anything about this?
