I think the first one is a Sterling V8? I'm not sure,but I do know it's a sterling.

First one is a Darley 2V8 siren. Btw I know this cause I live near one.
Second one is a Darley Model. Patton used to have one until it was scraped when the county got their new radio system, and they still use their low tone sterling, but I can see Atton's is a high toned sterling.

I took that picture btw, anyways that Vertical Sterling sounds like a 16 port Horizontal one, I hear it every time the county sets it off.

How can I tell if
these are model 5s or model 7s? The red one on top of the fire station is still in use for fire calls and I THINK weather warnings. The grey one is decommissioned and I am trying to get a hold of it to restore it. The red one is single-toned but the grey one was put out of service before I moved in so I'm not entirely sure. It looks older and could be a different model but the one on the fire station is probably regularly serviced while the grey one hasn't been touched since the cold war ended.

Usually a Model 7 is taller then a Model 5.

Usually a Model 7 is taller then a Model 5.
You can also sometimes tell between a dual tone and single tone if it is close enough, the stators are pretty easy to see in them.

The Sentry is just what you suspected it is, a 10V2T. There's a slim chance it could be a 10V1T (double 8 port rotors), but it's a safe bet that it's dual toned since a single tone-double rotor one is rare to come across.

How old is that series? I ask because the wires at the base of the pole (as you can see in one of the pics) are cut.
