I do too but not 's. They're underrated in my opinion and the 12 port pitch is a killer and 508's have as much coverage than 's

Using several emojis in one setting clutters the post and makes them difficult to read. Trust us, We love the emojis as much as you guys do. However, over using them can become quite the eye sore. You have to understand, that not all things will last forever. Have you ever heard of the term "Out with the old, in with the new"? Thunderbolt's are getting older and older and are getting replaced by new efficient sirens.

It's hard to believe the 2001 series siren can even be heard up to 1 Mile.

Have you ever heard a 2001 ambience? The closest 2001 to my house is about a half a mile away, but I can hear 3 or 4 others from up to 3 miles away. And they pack a punch.

There's a video of a 2001 being heard from 7 MILES AWAY. The closest siren to my house is a 2001-130 and it hurts my ears when it faces me. (It's about 1/3 of a mile Northwest from me)

When I was in LaPorte, I was 600ft away from the 2001, and it back a pretty good punch

Alright I didn't want to get into this but I feel I need to. In my experience thunderbolts have been super efficient (heck mine got beaten with salt air... Something that literally broke my model 5... Poor thing... And the thunderbolt STILL runs... I mean she is getting older but so far she seems okay) and they are super loud. (From what I heard the adjustable frequency can get them heard as far as 12 miles if it's a single tone and dual tone... Well when those things go off its pretty hard to mistake the sound...) I love all sirens including the 2001s... But let's keep it in perspective here. Again it's my experience but thunderbolts from what I have seen are not the maintenance hogs that some on here have claimed. That being said, the 2001 is a great siren with a battery back up and warrenty. (Or so I though federal signal put new sirens under warrenty...) yea they replace some older sirens but sometimes the job has to be done. Can't argue with battery back up, warrenty and just plain new or I don't think you can Argue with that at least...

The only siren in my town is the lovely 2001 SRN, except for the Thunderbolt 1000 that isn't even part of the county system. Also, the 2001 did end up giving us the 508.
