Please don't bump almost a month old post unless you have something to add to it thats helpful.

It has been much too hot here in the southern plains to be working on the siren itself, so I finished up my decal artwork and had some stickers printed. I have taped them to the side of the blower cover so that I could get an idea of what they are going to look like when I have applied them.

The Thunderbolt decal is printed on clear stock, of course, so once the backing is removed, the yellow paint on the siren will show through. Once the backing is removed, the Civil Defense sticker will just be the blue circle.

Despite my limited computer painting ability, the stickers turned out better than I expected.

That looks pretty good, I need some of those for mine.

That's gonna look real nice with the clear stickers put on. 8)

I got really curious about how the stickers look without the backing. I'm not ready to apply the decals to the siren so I decided to sacrifice one set and applied them to the piece of corrugated cardboard that I used as a paint test card.

I am pleased with the way they came out.

When it gets a little cooler, I'll finish painting the Thunderbolt and then see about erecting it.

I spent some time painting the standpipe for my Thunderbolt this afternoon and installed it on the blower. Although the mounting flange is less than one third of the height that it would be in an actual installation, it is a long way up there.

I have decided to better secure the blower pallet to the concrete base with four to six Hilti bolts. The three foundation anchors securing the center sill to the pad still allow the whole assembly to rock slightly and I would sleep better at night if it was rock solid.
