No man I was just joking around, but that install looks pretty stupid (no offence anyone).

Oh yeah. It is certainly a terrible install.
Ladies and Gentlemen, don't hire Goober to install your siren. He may be good at fixing cars, but not exactly at mounting sirens.
I do not recall if this was ever posted or not, but there is a 2001 at Pio Nono and Roff in Macon, Georgia that is mounted crazily low on what is left of a Thunderbolt pole setup... Maybe Ian has pictures of it.

Well look at it this way, it is a small town with small buildings and doesn't have the most expensive look to it. At least the sound doesn't have to travel over really tall things, though granted the front of the station itself seem like it would block a good bit of sound.

WHAAAAAT?!?!?!?!?!? Does the words "40 to 50 feet in the air" not mean anything to anyone??? Srsly 40 doesn't mean 4 people!!!! (But all humor aside that is a very low mount for a 2001.)

That 2001 install is frickin' hilarious. Needs a sign on the pole that says "if siren sounds, covering your ears will do no good." Or "earwax removal and colonic cleansing device".

Mount a seat on the siren and they can give rides on it at the annual fundraising BBQ.

You surely wouldn't need a stool to get up there.

The East Fallowfield Fire Department in Crawford County, Pa is a huge Ebay shopper, they happened to find a pair of Whelen 3016 sirens for sale and decided to purchase them. They never had a siren at the Hartstown station so they decided to build a mount for it, here is the end result (with another Ebay purchase shown, a Duplex/Emergency One Tanker they bought from somewhere in Alaska)... pretty sure this is not where I want to be during a fire call. Actually having had an altercation with the former chief of this department, I don't want to be there even if there is no call but that is for another topic LOL

I swear, you drag up some of the most unusual siren things on this board...

I feel the same way, but isn't it fun when I drag these things up? LOL
