But from what little I gather from reading about it it's mounted here then lifted up via that little chain thing and sounded. Does anyone in the GA area know? Like I said from what I gather from it it's on the ground until it gets sounded but I am not sure.

Oh no I posted this one here because like I said from what I gathered they mounted it there on the ground for the weather fair. If that's so that's pretty much one of the lowest mounted in the US. There is also... If I am not mistaken another ground mounted and still used XT22 in California. Ground mount pretty much won't get any lower

Yeah, that's C. Bartenfield's 2T22.
To my understanding, he is trying to get it mounted on a utility pole and incorporated into the Athens-Clarke Co. siren system, that's at least what he told me when I went to go get my RCM-1 from him.

Okay so this time I did use the search button... But 46 threads are a lot to go through... So I am sorry if this has been posted before... But I think this one qualifies...

I wouldn't call that one very low, it's on top of a parking garage.

Pretty much all the ones in LA are low mounted. If you ever see them in person you will know what I mean.

Was playing on Google Streetview tonight planning a trip around the state (like always) and decided to look around Sullivan County, Pa. I haven't spent any time there and wanted to get the lay of the land, the Endless Winds Fire Department in Shunk had obtained a blue Sterling M siren from the Salunga Fire Department in Lancaster County, Pa so I was expecting to see that at their station. Instead I found this Model 5 mounted on a platform, a very low platform at that.

This STL-10 in Courunna, IN is mounted fairly low, but that's because of the low building.
