Okay, I think we have this entire mystery figured out.

?We know that the siren is a Hormann ECN

?When I went to Millington, I saw a Thunderbolt on the NAS. It wasn't labeled on the map of sirens because I had placed the marker about 800 yards west of the siren, thinking that a utility pole was a siren (from the looks of it on Google).

?The 'old, white siren' turned out to be the Thunderbolt, which is 112 yards away from the Hormann.

I'm not sure about Hormanns in the US. IIRC, isn't ASC is a distributor of Hormanns for the US?

Hormann used to own ASC, but I don't know if they still do. The company once known as Hormann America is now known as Alerting Solutions, Inc. and is based in California, so who knows...

With it's location compared to yours, have you ever seen this siren before??? Did you know it was there?? I can't even imagine what it would be used for, the departments in that area (The House Of Graves) didn't have any sirens I ever found...this could be it though LOL!! Thank you, I must make the trip to see this!

It's about 4 miles SW of me; I've probably driven past it a hundred times and never noticed it.

Many departments around here used to have 2 or 3 sirens back in the day. One was always located at the firehouse and the rest were scattered around the district, usually in areas where members lived and the house siren was hard to hear.

This led me to believe that it was probably Glenside's. It is located in their district, far enough from the firehouse siren to be useful as a secondary, and situated in a populated area. However, the chief doesn't know who it belongs to or what it was ever used for.

That is the department I was talking about indeed, I never saw a siren at Glenside though... I saw the Model 5 at Weldon but never saw a siren at Glenside. What kind of siren does Glenside have??

Glenside has a high pitched horizontal siren with what looks like a custom housing. It sits on the roof of the old section of the firehouse (C-D corner) and is difficult to see from the street. I have never seen it up-close, but I would guess that it is a Sterling M5 16/16, similar to the one I rebuilt for Wyndmoor.

I cannot identify this one. It is behind the Dublin, Texas Fire Department.





I suspect it might be a modified model 5 similar to this.
