Hey guys, I'm kinda new here, both to the forum and to the air raid siren scene, but I've found them very interesting.
I recently acquired a siren of my own. It is from an RAF station where I fly from. It, however unfortunate it is to say, was a source of entertainment for some of the people there who found it hilarious to spin it up by hand and drop things into the rotor because it has been sat in our crew room for a few years. I hope to restore this siren to as close to it's former glory as possible, as currently the bolts have all rusted, along with the front cover for it (heater?) and unfortunately, the information plate too. I can only get some basic info from looking at the pictures, It says faintly "Service Electric Co Ltd" and I can also see from the info that it has a 400/440v 3-phase motor for use at 50Hz.
The Incredibly rusty front panel was originally attached (of course) but upon trying to remove the bolts holding it on, when I first took an interest in it, most of them sheared off because of their age and the rust associated with that. Of the 5 bolts that were left in there when I found it, only two were completely removed.
I have looked and haven't managed to find any more details on this siren, and haven't seen any similar ones on this site or any other. I was hoping you guys could help me out in identifying it
Attatched are some pictures I took of it. Any questions please ask
