Installed the T-bolt today and brought back the Thunderbeam. What a piece of junk. Wonder what the scrap value of this would be.

Have you pulled the band and looked at it yet? It would be interesting to see what it looks like now.

What happened was the siren radio stuck in the on position during an activation for a tornado and it stuck on for 30 minutes and the duty cycle on the siren is 15 minutes. I pulled the band and the brushes were melted, the wire ties holding the field together were laying in the bottom and there was copper metal droplets in the bottom of the motor. If we did not have to put another one up on the same pole I would have cut it down and let it fall and of course record it for endless hours of enjoyment. What a piece of crap. Whoever purchased these had their head up thier a** , OH I purchased this one........

Sounds more like the radio's fault, not the sirens

You could put a time delay relay inline with the contactor coil that would open the circuit after 15 minutes of continuous activation. That would prevent it from happening again. Everytime power is switched off and reapplied it would automatically reset so the normal operation of the siren would not be affected.
