Thanks for your hard work! Nice so see some of those old sirens like the GCS "Model 5" in Selma. I noticed that Daleville has two, incredibly ugly Model 2's. Is one dual tone and the other single? Great shot of that Banshee. Without the motor cover, it looks like one of those WWII Siemens sirens from Germany.

Yea, that Banshee is the closest I've ever been to a siren. You walk out of the door at the top of the stairs in the county building and bam there's a Banshee. I was a little scared that the siren might go off by accident, but there were no storms and it was not 11am Friday. I've still got some pics to take, some of those being the Whelen's at Ball State University. I can't wait until we get our new 2001 to install it on the north side of Muncie. And as far as the Model 2's in Daleville being single and duel tone, I have no ide. I just know they have really weird paint jobs.

Is a big warning sign posted on that door warning about the times of the siren test?

I'd love to observe the test as long as I could close my ears.

But I'd want to be videotaping it with my camcorder, so would have to have really good ear plugs.

I'd want to set off a smoke source right next to the intake to see if a vortex is created and observe how the smoke exits the stator ports.

Am I a pervert or what?

No vortex would happen unless the suction is uneven.

I can't wait for our projected, long-waiting 2001, either! :D

I wonder if they've started distributing the 130 or if we'll be getting the SRNB. I'm gonna have to check into that.

Yes I too have wondered about the 130...havent seen any in illinois yet, although i really havent left Chicago much in the last few months. Itll be interesting to see them in the wild when they do go up.
