How many different types of thunderbolts are there?

Noobie question time..

How many different types of thunderbolts are there?
An what is the difference between them?

I have seen people talk about,
1000, 1000A, 1000B, 1000T, 1000TB, an 1003.

First you have the type (1000, 1000T, 1003)

Then you have the series (A1, A2, B, C)

Then the power designation (ex. 1000A=single tone, three phase; 1000B=single tone, single phase)

My former thunderbolt was a 1000BTC, which was a dual tone, single phase C series.

And of course the more obscure 2000 and 7000 series (gasoline/electric hybrid and full self-contained gasoline models).

Don`t forget the B-series t-bolts with the off-set rotator!

The 7000 series has 3 different models like the 1000 series.

Model 7012 is single-toned and only capable of 2 signals (alert and attack) just like the 1000.

Model 7022 is dual-toned and only capable of 2 signals (alert and attack) just like the 1000T.

Model 7026 is dual-toned and is capable of 6 signals (alert, attack, steady high-low, wailing high-low, steady pulsed, and wailing pulsed) just like the 1003.
Resident of a county with big a mixture of sirens, but in the process of being replaced. :(

Guess what...Those are not all B series units. The 1000C at Southern High School here in Louisville has one of those offset rotators.

No C series units have the offset rotor. That was one of the defining factors of why Federal changed to the C series. If it says C series on a
tag somewhere it could have been replacement parts.

I know Adam's page says the B series had problems with the chopper motor going out of alignment, but was there a problem with the rotator too?

Ok so if I'm understanding this correctly. My 1003 I believe is a 3 phase so would that make it a 1003B? Is there any tags or markings that I could check to know for sure the model and year of it?
