I think they are. I haven't seen any around, plus I don't even think American Signal has one on their website. :?:

I believe Defenders are made by Sentry.

But yeah, I've never seen one "in the wild" either.

Very rare. The only one I've seen is on the Sirens-for-cities site. Linkage: http://www.sirens-for-cities.org/SS-3Defender.AVI

There's one somewhere on the Siren Archive. It's yellow, and I believe was in some weird beach-y location.

On my drive down the coast before Christmas, I was hunting around North Bend, Oregon, looking for their diaphone and I found a Defender mounted at their high school football field, although it had an Edwards Signaling label on it. The control box label looked like Sentry (who manufactures the Defender) but since there was a cop driving nearby, I didn't want to get out for a closeup. I was surprised how much smaller the Defender was compared to a T-128 or a 2001.

There are apparently several Defenders in the Caribbean.

I've been to Cozumel, Roatan, and Belize, and I didn't see anything (except the closest bar! )

That's because you weren't in the Caribbean. Try places like Martinique, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Virgin Islands, St. Lucia, or Montserrat (but I think they have a 2T22).

Looks like that Defender still has the equipment box underneath it from the original siren.
