Now this is a siren graveyard!

Sat Aug 06, 2011 4:55 am

I was just looking up "Jail bar Thunderbolt" on Youtube and I found this video. The video isn't mine but I thought it was interesting enough to share. There seems to be tons of sirens there just wasting away. Seems to be mostly Tbolts and model 5 or 7s. It would be nice to see these go in to a collection or back into service instead of rotting away.

Does anyone know where it is?

I suspect that it is probably in the Deep South someplace. What a great find this is. This is a road trip waiting to happen for us siren geeks. ;-)

Sincerely yours,

I wish I knew where it was because I would love to acquire one of those federal models since they are my favorite sirens.

There could be more sirens towards the back in all that vegetation but the video was very poorly shot and they only focused on the t-bolts. I did notice most of the T-bolts are missing they're choppers.

Could anybody make out the state emblem on the side of the derrick truck? Looked like Alabama or Missisippi.

The guy that said "He is happy" sounds like Jed from Charlie's video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298NJdkRzc4

Or at least I think he is the one named Jeb, I'm not sure on who's who here yet

I have a feeling some siren kiddies will be forcing their parents to drive all over the place to find the graveyard.
