The laughing emoticon through me off

Out of curiosity, was the hi-lo a Euro Police hi-lo or a 1003 hi-lo ("wailing" hi-lo)?

Personally, I don't like the Modulator's Westminster chimes; they're kinda boring (you gotta like the EOWS dual-tone version).

The Modulator has a nice, low overall tone to their Westminster signals.

The ATI did a hi-lo that European sirens could blow out of water! The ATI sirens did a high-pitch, steady hi-lo signal.

It's probably the fact that the recording on the FS site sucks arse.

Believe me, with the echoing of the refineries and the rail yard, the sample sound of a Modulator's Westminster chimes doesn't do justice to the real thing!

SirenMadness wrote:Well, I've heard the ATIs and the Modulator, and the ATI sirens seem to be a tad bit louder than I thought!! However, the sound... ohhh! The ATI sirens did a hi-lo signal, an alert signal, and a whoop signal, as I remember it. I have also heard a dual-tone Thunderbolt from Michigan. I never knew that the ATI siren could broadcast a voice message! The Modulator did two rounds of Westminster chimes as its work-out today. Overall, the ATI did better than I thought that they would, though they still disappointed me. Mike: if you go to Sarnia, you will find that they have added an extra cell to their Modulator; the Modulator has four cells now.
The ATI's only have one tone, continuous beep. And it sounds for 15 seconds. The hi-lo you heard were the EOWS 1212s scattered at every refinery from Courtright to Sarnia. Did you hear the Thunderbolt from Suncor? It's dual-tone and you can see it from the St. Clair Parkway along the river before the highway turns into Vidal St. Sarnia. There was also DSA sirens near the Modulator. Those voice broadcasts were just refineries too. Wasn't it an awesome experience? From Corunna you get sirens in every direction. Michigan didn't test sirens today, but all along the river are 2001s and a Sentry siren in Marine City, MI.

I don't know as to which Thunderbolt I've heard, though it was fun! I don't think that I have seen a Thunderbolt on my trip. Also, I never knew that there are DSA sirens near the Modulator! :D The whoops sounded a bit too weird for an ATI siren to do; were they from the EOWS* 1212s, also?

I'd have to go with either the nuclear bomb or the Ford Pinto on that claim.
