Detroit Siren Ambiance 11/05/11

Here is a video of this month's siren test. I recorded it from the same area as last month's recording. It seems that Detroit hasn't exactly figured out what signals they wanted to test: the Thunderbolt 1000T went in like four minutes of alert, while the 2001s and Thunderbolt 1000s did 1.5 min alert and 1.5 min of attack. Also the Thunderbolt 1000 started a bit later than the 2001s. I'm guessing an activation signal delay. Anyways, I thought this was a good test. You can hear Redford's thunderbolt 1000 in the beginning of the video. Sorry for the random talking in the middle of the video. That was my grandaddy.

I was at the 14th st and Bagley T-bolt.
All I recorded was the background noises since that t-bolt didn't go off
You can hear sirens in the back ground as well. I did hear alert and attack.
The pole mounted 2001 near the lodge didn't go off either.

I think I was hearing the 2001 on the ex GM headquarters in New center and the thunderbeam in mexican town off of Vernor Hwy. All the other new and old ones are too far away.

They definitely have quite a bit more fixing to do. It sounds like they still haven't hooked those pole mounted 2001s up yet. I guess another letter and and an attempt at a phone call is in order.

It's not great other than looking at a T-bolt from far away.
You can barely hear the sirens over the train horn and the digging machine that was behind where I was at about 20-30 yards away.
I don't think it's worth putting it up. Unless you want me to?

No. He said "there ain't nothing wrong with going a little backwards." That's not very funny.
