"New" Kenosha P-50 Siren Test Fail

This just happened to be the P-50 that was just installed after being refurbished two weeks ago. This siren shut off early while the others were still sounding. Notice right before the wind-down what happens.

They should just consider sending that right to ASC for a repair...they will repair any of their sirens, even if they aren't made anymore. Sentry does the same thing, but they will even restore old Sterlings if you pay for it.

Look at the :06 mark. Is that smoke coming out of the horn? Or is it just dust from the refurbishing?
Otherwise, it also sounds like there's an odd noise below the siren tone like something is running too hard or incorrectly.
From the way that the rotator also seizes up, methinks there was an issue with the power going to the siren more than a siren motor failure. But I admit to being no expert on these matters.

Usually Fulton does a good job with their rebuilt sirens. Lord knows they've overhauled a bunch of them.
It sounds like it dropped a leg, and then the OL protection kicked it off. My bet is a loose connection somewhere that got really hot.
That is why I put phase protectors on all of the three phase sirens I install. It sounds like that one had one also, but the time delay was set a little too long on it.

It has been very windy Friday and Saturday one leg could have dropped out or failed because of wind

Is it just me, or does the intake look like an intake/mount for the STH-10 SD-10 ect.

Last week we were dispatched to a utility pole fire. A disconnect had burned up and the resulting lost phase dropped power to about a third of the neighborhood. Ten minutes later we were at a supermarket down the road for smoke in the building. A 3 phase HVAC blower motor tried to run on 2, and you know what happened next ...
The same exact thing occured at an apartment building this morning. An electrical fire outside, followed shortly by a stucture fire call for smoke coming from the heater vents.
We need to explain phase protectors to the folks around here.

What if it was a real emergency and it's already thunderstorming, and a tornado is on the ground? You know how windy it gets in thunderstorms, right? That's a severe defect if it can not withstand 20-30 MPH winds.
