Siren Differentiation

Wed Dec 07, 2011 2:32 am

What's the best way to distinguish the different 2001 models? I see 2001 DC, -130, -SRNB. Is it just staring at the stickers/labels, or are there easy to spot physical differences (like the solenoid box on the 1003...)?

I believe SRN's had more rectangular rotator boxes.

They used the same rotator as the Thunderbolt, so yes. The SRNBs were the same as the SRN except with a smaller, direct drive rotator. The 130s have a longer intake box which (supposedly) made it 130 dB. The older ones, commonly referred to as a 2001-DC, is really just the same thing as the SRN, but it has a smaller motor, so the center cone is also smaller.

There is also the Roundback if you happen to see one of those. It is the same as the 2001-DC with the small cone in the projector horn but the box on the back has a rounded top.
