Whelen Alpha 12Q *UPDATED with video*

Wed Dec 07, 2011 5:21 pm

Well I guess I'll be adding one to my list of sirens. I came across it on ebay pretty cheap, placed a bid figuring I'd be out bid. Well I won the darn thing. For those that don't know about these, they are electronic vehicle sirens. Whelen made this back in the day and was then sued by Federal because it sounds like a Federal Q. They are very hard to find and when you do people rape you with the price. I have seen them go for around $500 in worse shape then mine looks from the pic. I was able to get it for $205 shipped. Not sure what I will do with it yet. I might try to resell it for more, hold onto it myself, or be a nice son and let my dad install it on his truck so it can be used.

Here's a video of one hooked to a Federal SM2000 controller

got it! basically the same as the 12M instructions. Sucks that you can only get the Q and nothing else or the other tones and no Q. Kinda retarded they did it that way
