from that topic if you don't know what I'm talking about:

I just discussed rescuing this siren with my mom; she's fine with it, but my stepdad might have the issue. Now, space isn't a problem, we have 7 acres...my problems are restoring it, which I have no experience, and I'd be rescuing it, just for the purpose that it won't get scrapped. Here's my question:

Would anyone here, be willing to take it off my hands if I can get ahold of this? you'd have to come pick it up yourself. If I don't get a response, from someone that's 100% sure, then I might not be able to get it. I plan to go tomorrow, and find out if I can even get this siren. If you can, please let me know, and we'll work out details. As much as I'd love to keep it if I get it, I can't because we're renting this place and if we have to move....you get the idea. Thanks guys!!

*Mobil

Considering scrap metal price is rather low and that thing looks like it's sitting in a scrapyard, you should be able to get it for a decently low price as long as you offer more than scrap. Be sure to explain that it has a 3 phase motor and you won't be able to run it at your house, perhaps that would pursue them that you won't be doing anything illegal.

Now if that's not a scrapyard then I have no tips other than to be extra charming and appear overly smart and interested.

I would hope that you would have something to bring it home on if you get it as these are huge and extremely heavy, you would need a truck with a crane on it or a piece of heavy equipment just to move it. Ironic since not 4 hours ago I was looking at one of these on the ground near my house that i`m trying to get. Just noticed in the picture that that may be controller lying next to it on that pallet on the left of it in the picture.

@TBOLT1000:

I have a van, and we have two hitching trailers, probably not suitable for it I'm not sure; I know obviously these sirens need something better to haul with. There's a rental place in town I'm sure that could haul it to my place, but that's unknown as well. This is even if I can get this siren :?

I hope you get it, it is a rare siren indeed but when you go back see if it is single or duel toned because the motor that is on it is not the original type of motor they put on those.
