Bumblebolt in the Denver, Colorado system (Now with photos)

For some background, there are three super-old jailbar sirens in Denver, two being Lincoln Elementary and Cole Junior High which are both, at least nowadays, painted black. Today I drove up to the third at Smiley Junior High and found it is an original - and from what I saw absolutely pristine - yellow and black striped Bumblebolt. Just about soiled my trousers when I saw it.

So! Tomorrow I'll be heading back up with a camera for photos. I would have today but I'm not to keen on having the cops called on me a third time for taking photos of a school during hours

For now, here's a view down from bing where you can almost but not quite see the stripes.

And here's a cropped photo I just found on Google which doesn't show the stripes, but it does show that the horn opening is black while the housings for the chopper and motor are yellow.

Againj, I'll be back up tomorrow to take photos of it myself.

Also some bad news: there's a 2001 (I think DC, didn't get a good look at it just driving by) on a pole next to the parking lot. It's not present in the bing overview, but it's congruent with the city's plans to replace the cold war sirens fairly soon. If I were to have the opportunity to buy this siren if they take it down I'd love to but at the moment wallet says no.

Great find! If the 2001 was installed within the last few years sometime, it is very well likely to be a 130. I would doubt that the city/county would buy used 2001s.

I think it was installed within the past few months.

Logic automatically says it's a 130 but it looked like the back was square rather than rectangular. I probably just saw wrong though. I only got a quick glimpse.

It sucks that they replaced that Mobil Directo at Bates-Logan Park with a 2001-130. Because as seen in the video taken like a year ago, it worked beautifully. :(

Nice find! Hopefully someone on this board will be able to snatch it up.

As I promised, I went back up there today. Unfortunately there was some sporting even going on which prevented me from getting any really good angles, but these ought to do the trick for now.

Linking photos because they are enormohuge resolution.

Did you get a better look at the 2001 to see what model it was?

Oh right, forgot about that. I didn't really look at it too hard but I think it had a curved inner cone with a large logo so I'd put my money on 130.
