Messing with the pitch settings on my Thunderbolt.. 12/19/12

Wed Dec 19, 2012 8:52 pm

So I wanted to see what my Thunderbolt sounded like on low pitch settings while getting some feedback from distant neighbors on test day. First I set it on Level 1 (level 2 on my tap, since mine is single phase) for alert then level 2 (level 3 on my tap) for attack mode. Needless to say it was still monstrously loud and literally rattled my bones more than usual (normally it's on level 5). A distant neighbor said that it sounded strange this time, like a "chainsaw" or "bulldozer" so I bumped it up to level 3 (4 on my tap) to have a slightly higher pitch.

Anyway, here's the video that I shot with my iPhone:

I love that raspy growl that only low chopper levels can bring.

Do you have another vid that shows the wind-up in Alert?
