Greenwood, SC Phasing Out Siren System

Apparently, the siren system is going to be phased out in the next year or so.

It is comprised of several Thunderbolt 1003s, some 1000(T)s, a Whelen, and a few other sirens.

I'll ask around if they will be removed, and if I can get any of them and possibly sell them here.
What a shame, a great system being phased out in favor of weather radios and such.

I've read some articles stating that Spartanburg County is planning on doing the same thing over the next few years.

I sure hope Spartanburg doesn't, they're like the closest Amarillo to Ohio. I wonder if they will just leave them in place or remove them.

Yeah, it's sad that they're going to do it. I just wonder why the counties don't apply for grants to fix the siren systems.

Since Amarillo has a bunch of siren varieties of sirens, I said it was like an Amarillo close to Ohio.

Remember, Cincinnati/Hamilton County is basically that way too, except all of the old sirens will be gone soon.
Resident of a county with big a mixture of sirens, but in the process of being replaced. :(

Sure! It's also easy to see them via street view, for the few that have it.
