Does anyone have a map of Indianapolis' siren system? This has probably been posted before, if so sorry...

Regarding the old system map,the ones that were noted "still standing but deactivated" were standing as of 2011 correct?

The only reason I put those there was really as notes to myself for future trips up there. But to answer your question, I put that if I could see the siren in the updated street view and/or if I could see it from the 45 degree angle view.

Indianapolis is a crazy system. The system consist of a mixture of 151 2001-SRNs, SRNBs, and 130s. The sirens themselves are activated over WiFi. Some of the 2001s in the county have lightning sensors and lightning rods on them. Indianapolis test their 151 sirens on the first Friday at 11am.

I've never heard of tornado sirens being activated via Wi-Fi before. The only activation methods I thought there were was radio control and phone line.

There was an older SRN on the east side of the city that was hit by a car about two months ago. By the time I came across it all I found was a pole snapped in half and the control boxes remaining. The siren head was gone. It was only two blocks from where I was working so I checked on it every few days. It was repaired and put back up about two weeks after the pole was hit. I had expected it would be replaced by a 130, but was glad that the SRN ended up repaired. There are also 4 other sirens in Indy that are in use but not part of the system. Two at Marian College and two at the Indianapolis International Airport. Haven't ID'd where or what the airport sirens are.
