Franklin County, Ohio map of remaining old sirens

Tue Jun 18, 2013 3:17 pm

Here is a map of some old sirens that appear to still remain in Franklin County, Ohio. My brother made it on Google Maps on his account. The picture is a little old, but please tell me what you think.

Thanks

There's also an abandoned TBolt off of High St. between 10th and 11th and an old yellow STL10 on Livingston Ave. at Geers St. On a building roof.

Can you please give me a map of the 10th and 11th T-bolt? I have not been able to find it.

Edit: Nevermind, I found it! Here's the two sirens you posted:

STL-10: http://goo.gl/maps/L2cTR

Thunderbolt: http://goo.gl/maps/NjgRy

Thank you!

It would be cool to try to map the original system circa 1974, before Whelens were installed beginning in 1982.

Sirens in locations different from now (in 1974):

Sullivant and S. Eureka
Alley behind Sullivant (north side) between Binns Blvd and S. Huron
Orel Ave. just north of W. Broad
Murray Hill Rd. south of W. Broad

Yeah, the map he made was for old remaining locations only, not for old non-remaining sirens. Feel free to make that old system map.
