Leach of London Siren

Sat Aug 10, 2013 10:03 pm

Hi all,

I have a red Air raid siren with LEACH and LONDON pressed on the metal of the siren.

I don't know anything about this siren and I can't seem to find out anything online about it (other than 1 photo of a rusty one on flickr.)

Can anyone tell me more about this - is it from the 2nd World War?

I've included 4 photos - really sorry about how blurry some of them are!

Thanks in advance

Dave

Definitely a WWII era siren. Hand crank sirens were very widely used, particularly in smaller communities, in the UK and US.
A resident of arguably the most siren-diverse county in history.
