Hi Guys, Can someone give me approximate dates of Federal sirens by company name ? I.E. Federal Electric-Federal Enterprises-Federal Sign and Signal etc. Which era would the Fedelcodes come under ? Thanks

I could be wrong, but I think Fedelcodes were 1930s-40s.

Fedelcode is "supposed to" refer to a siren with a coding mechanism, but I'm not all too sure if the fedelcode logo only went on coded sirens or not...

Well the answer to that is they did put the fedelcode logo on non-coded sirens. I have one. It has been 50 ft up on a courthouse for as long as I can remember and I'm in my 50s. It was never coded.

I've got one also that has the Fedelcode tag, and it's just a plain siren. I think it was more of a brand name than anything else.

First was Federal Electric in 1901. Then, they eventually converted to sirens in the 30s-40s I believe to Fedelcode sirens. That is when they became "Federal Enterprises" and by the time they went public in 1971, they were Federal Sign and Signal (though that was their name before that). I think in the late 50-early 60s, they changed it to Federal S&S.
