The Siren Board

'Evening folks.

I was browsing the interwebs and found this article. I know it will be interesting to our east coast folk that the 508 has gone east. Otherwise I guess there's really no place to put this, so I apologize for creating a new thread for something so inconsequential, but I thought the mount on this siren was very interesting.

Looks as though Tioga Center, NY got themselves a new 508 as a flood siren, but wow is that ever a ramshackle tower if I ever saw one. Doesn't look too high, either.

I'm guessing they had an old ancient siren up there before. Hope it can stand the windloading of that big projector.

Even if that tower is rugged, it sure does look scary !

Dang, I didn't even see that. I didn't even think there was a single 508 in NY! Must be for the Susquehanna river if they were talking about flooding, the only river downstate that dows
