Small horned thunderbolt found

I believe this has been brought up before, there are some videos of a thunderbolt going off for a test and you can hear a 2001 in the background. Honestly i think they look scary like that. The horn was cut to clear the tower

Yes, it was filmed by Derek Thompson.

Yes, it was filmed by Derek Thompson.
That was Thunderbolt 1000 in Ramona, South Dakota that Derek filmed.

I believe the modification was made to the Ramona siren to decrease output since it was used for firecalls. However, as mentioned earlier, the Denver Thunderbolt modification was likely intended to allow it to clear the radio tower behind it.

Also, is this red/yellow one hooked up to a blower? It doesnt really sound like it but in the picture there is that hose coming out from under the rotation box

I seem to recall a video from 2006 or 2007 that was taken by Derek Thompson showing the blower in action. If I remember correctly, the blower was located inside the building the siren was next to. Unfortunately that video was never reposted.
