3 phase to single phase?

hi guys,
I might be able to get my hands on a 2T22 siren but its a 3 phase siren. Since I don't have access to 3 phase power here at my house, is there a way to convert the siren into a single phase siren?
Thanks all,
Chris

No. Not without buying a phase converter, which runs in the thousands.
And by phase converter I mean a real phase converter, either a rotary or transformer converter. Not one of those cheesy "buzz box" static converters that can be found cheap and don't work worth a crap.

...And the single phase 2t22B motor is around a grand, new. Used prices may vary if you're able to snag one.
PS.... Lookie there, 550 Posts from a guy that likes 550-AT sirens

If you're lucky, and if you do some searching, you may find a fairly reasonably priced used rebuilt rotary phase converter at an electric motor repair shop or on craigslist. Every so often I see a Phase-O-Matic turn up that is in working condition. We have one of these at the farm that runs 5 motors simultaneously on our drying setup. But then again, you would need to know how to hook it up, and to do that you would need an electrician which could make a costly bill for you.

Thanks guys for all the replies and suggestions. I may just wait to see if I can get a 2T22B single phase unit instead of messing around with a converter......i have some feelers out to Blue Valley and WSS so hopefully they can get me one soon. If anyone knows of a 2T22B for sale please keep me in mind =-)
thanks fellas,
Chris
