I got them for just $200 with a bunch of other antiques and miscellaneous things!!
I haven't put power to them yet but the rotors do spin!

Can you give us a close-up of the nameplates? I'd like to see them.

Yes I can! I'll get a picture of the other one later.
How can you tell what year it is?

A agree with TurbopropPilot, I think that is the proper serial number. The first 6 digits are right, and the B may be a B or it can also be an 8.

I honestly have no clue. I don't think the year is even listed.
WAIT!
I bet if you look up the serial # on an online directory, it might pull up the mfr. date.
Do you know what city you got the Fedelcodes from? Perhaps if you asked the EMA director of that city, they may have the original sirens' info and installation records.

Hope this helps.

I'm thinking 1941 also. Do you think if I called up Federal Signal and gave them the serial number they could look it up? I don't know if they would keep records that long. I know which city they came from. I bought them from an electrical contractor that closed up shop a couple decades ago and is now just starting to sell off everything in the shop!!

You may be able to call their people. They also have a contact request page on their site that can be found here.

The housings look more like H.O.R. SiroDrone's, but the guts are a short-leg Model 2.

As for dating, they have to be made before 1952 (when they changed the name to Federal Sign and Signal.)
