We have a Wiki!

So, here's the project that John, Matt, Ryan, mrboojay, VASirens, and myself have been working on for the past two weeks. Open now, we have a small siren model database based on a wiki! We wanted to throw something together to ease identification of sirens and also help on finding specifications on known sirens. We have (over?)categorized everything in hopes of making it easily searchable. For the time being we want to keep editing limited to the people mentioned above plus anyone in the Siren Expert, Administrator, and Moderator groups. So, if you see something incorrect or have a picture of a siren that we don't (preferably at eye level if possible, and with a neutral background, and you will get credit!) let mrboojay, VASirens, or myself know.
Oh, and I almost forgot, here's a link!

I have some pictures of 2001s, Model 2s, Thunderbeams, and a Altec Lansing Horns siren y'all can use.

I ca do a write up on the Denver Siren if you like. I still have most of the old articles I have found over the years saved to my computer.

I have a huge list of decibel ratings for many siren models that I could give you guys if you want it. Don't have ratings for some of the really rare models, but there are quite a few on there.

Oh, so you're Ziginox. How did I never figure that out?
I like the idea of a wiki, it seems a natural replacement for the "Siren Museum" Adam put together years ago using Director. At least now it's on an open platform and it'll have more than one (approved) person curating it.

I never really made it obvious, nor do I really have any siren-related stuff that identifies me (unlike crazywarriorman and his Hurricane...)
Anyway, I had Matt change my username here so it's uniform with what I use elsewhere.

This is the most exciting project since the board's upgrade! I've wanted to do this for years, but never had the time or site access to do it. I agree with Jim's statement as well, it's a good web 2.0 replacement for the Siren Museum, as building something similar would be too much for less than a handful of people.

I would suggest adding uncommonsense, Remingtoncountry, and siren_dude as contributors.

I think this is brilliant! An online archive that shows every siren known, and all info about that siren. Goes across all branches too; vehicular, small, medium, full-size, mechanical, electronic, etc.
I would be willing to pitch in a little bit to help complete it. I can make 3D models to represent sirens that were rarely photographed, hard to find, or were only found in ads. I could also pitch in some siren knowledge, I know a decent share about a large group of sirens.
