Ahh yes, the Perdix Fire Department... Taken down by a neighboring fire department for it's territory. Fire Department is no longer in service, there is (was) another Sterling M laying on the ground by the steps in front of the building that came from the neighboring Marysville Fire Departmemt when they bought thier massive blue 15V2T. Good pic!

there was a new federal signal model 2 that was in the area i mean brand new it came in the white paint and all the warning labels on it
don't remember the fire department and never took a picture. if we take my brother back down to Messiah College ill be sure to get a pic of the Sterling again and that model 2 that i had a pretty fun time looking in a strange little neighborhood for.
thanks i really like this pic too might put it as my picture as well shame its out of service i would snatch this sucker up in a heartbeat it would fit in the back of my moms Chrysler van :lol.

Well, here is the thing.. the fire department has been shut down for running territory but it is still open (this is Pa so things are goofy).. there is still a fire chief and a whole set of line officers underneath him, there is still apparatus sitting in the bays as a matter of fact. So as stupid as it sounds (and believe me, it is stupid) you could try a letter to the department and see if they will sell it to you, if the members have all finally left it falls back to the township it is incorpirated in (in this case, Penn Township, Perry County, Pa). The property, building and contents are all still owned by the Perdix Fire Department though so it sort of falls into the proverbal donut hole. Your best bet is a letter to the fire department requesting to purchase it...no need to contact Enola either, that is is in a whole other county from Perdix.

hope that doesn't happen before i get a decent job, 3-4 hundred dollars, and my brother to have a reason to go down there. yikes... i hear that purchasing sirens can be expensive. it bites only being 15 that can be quite hindering considering i want a siren so badly but cant heft over the cash to obtain one

.
if id ever get the money id consider it but buying sirens can be expensive once i can get a job maybe i could save up some money but doubt they'd just hand it to me and say "Here ya go don't bust your ear drums with it" if only that were a possibility
