Went up this weekend to visit my girlfriend. We decided to take a walk an visit a siren we all no so well

That's weird that the standpipe isn't in the middle... Never seen that before but there again I also haven't worked on a thunderbolt that was newer than 1970.

That is because it is a B-series thunderbolt. I think the reason it is offset is because it has a direct-drive rotator.

Yep direct drive rotator and that PITA totally enclosed chopper motor.

Oh… Okay that makes sense. The ones I work on are 1000A's. Thunderbolts are a real rarity up here.
