From News on 6. The old Federals are out.
PAWHUSKA, OK -- The cost to keep one Green Country town safe during storm season is on the rise. Pawhuska is paying thousands each year to keep its storm warnings sounding in the spring.

Do you have any idea what they are installing?

$60,000 for 5 sirens? I'm betting ATI.

That's what I was thinking when I saw the ATI in the video. Just another town awaiting a rip off.

Reliability and ATI you don't hear that in the same sentence to often.

That's actually a pretty good deal, seeing how most per-unit costs run in the 20-25k range. 60k is getting them 5 sirens and a new control system. I'd say they're paying fair-market value if they are getting ATIs.

NO!!!! STOP THEM!!!!!!!! Lol it isn't going to save them any money. These sirens work for 50 years and the ATI wont even work/sound right for 3.

I'm gonna give ATI a chance on this one. They actually did a good job in Owasso aside from doing custom tones wrong. They activate every time and are loud enough for people outdoors. They work better than even the Whelens here in Broken Arrow. Maybe 'Huska will luck out and get a decent system. I'm crossing my fingers.Owasso has only had to order one more siren for more coverage at the base of a hill. A small town like Pawhuska won't likely need more than 5.

ATI better than Whelen? I find that hard to believe.

One of the Whelens here (the one by my house) messed up just yesterday. They tested for the first time audibly this year and this one just rotated, no sound, while the others were going. This isn't the first mess up. It's also gone off in Attack without the others last year. BA failed tests in the past but I admit I'm not sure if it's the system or if it is not maintained properly. So I take back calling it better. I don't have all the right intelligence to say so.
