My first recording of my favorite electronic siren, the EOWS 612. This is apart of the City of Shelby's outdoor warning system which consists of 2 612s and 2 508s. The city used to have 3 612s and a Model B. This particular 612 is located at Seltzer Park on the east side of the city. The test was late so I called the FD who eventually set them off around 12:27. Enjoy! 8)

Forget the 612. That 508 has an amazing bite as it comes around.

love these sirens that have the old siratone control boxes! for some reason IMO they sound better than the UV that Federal uses for the Mods :D

Thats the best video of a 612 in alert I have ever seen! Siratones controls will always be the best sounding electronic siren controllers in my opinion.

Agreed though it's great if need be that the EOWS series can be fitted with the UV controllers in case the siratone controls go but i love the 10/12 tone the siratone gives off compared to its modern UV counterpart

Nice sounding. I like how low pitched this one is compared to a UV driven siren with the preset pitches. The only thing is that these Siratone controllers have really bad issues. This one holds its pitch well after everything evens out. Reminds me of a 1000T.

Anyone know why it just cut out at the end without winding down?

Could Federal customize the controller to cut out like that?

Perhaps they cut the test early because they tested so late. They ran for about 2 minutes and 25 seconds which isn't a normal test length.
