Hereford Tx. Model 2 and Cyclones

Thu Jun 05, 2014 12:39 am

KDK and I went to Hereford for the monthly siren test. Had noticed that they had installed a new Model 2 recently. So, I left Kyle at the top of the football stadium to get a multi-siren vid while I went to the Model 2. The 2 ran in attack while the Cyclones ran in alert. This was added as the city has built a new hospital and Amarillo College has built a new campus in the area, so it is assumed that they want to be able to cover that area more. Cyclones seem to cover it pretty good already, but hey, another siren is OK in our books!!! Already have 7 Cyclones, 2 really old SD-10's and now the little Model 2. Nice!!

Those are great videos Ben and KDK! Good job. I like the ambience. That Model 2 is actually louder than I thought it'd be. How far is the 2 from the Cyclone?

That's where that SD10 with the push button is isn't it? It was old as dirt, but very cool. And vulnerable.

They are about 3/4 mile between the two of them. More overkill. Indoor coverage. Nothing wrong with that though!

I love the overkill towns, they're a lot more entertaining.
