ASC T128 and FS2001 Series

Mon Apr 23, 2007 5:28 pm

Has anyone seen the guts of the T128 or 2001? I would like to see pictures of the guts in any one of these sirens.

There is a picture showing a 2001SRNB on the ground with the back panel of the horn box removed, exposing some innards.

Don't know where the picture has gone. I've asked for it before.

Ill see if I can find it.

hmm for some strange reason I was expecting a bit more on the inside or "Guts" as some of you call it. lots of space on the inside.

The motor is mounted in the cone of the siren so that the chopper is actually in the back of the siren. It gets air through holes in the rear case (which is why there is so much empty space in there), chops it, and projects the resultant sound through a specially designed horn-coupled projector. (there are actually twelve individual exponential horns connected to the ports which convey the sound through the projector)

So you're saying that what I'm looking at is the actual rotor of the siren and not a cooling fan?

The twelve individual exponential horns are one, big piece, I think.
