For those not on my fb last night I picked up an M5. I was told it was in storage at a local fire house but no one could find it. I was given a lead on where it was by the old Assistant Chief so asked to look myself. I guess no one looked on the other side of the room. There behind the boiler stood the siren. I approached the board and it didn't seem like it was going to go in my favor. At one point I was told it wasn't for sale. Then they got back to me with a price. The now assistant chief did a lot of fighting for me and informed them it wasn't worth anything but scrap. Apparently there was a bit of an argument at the meeting that it was company history and they shouldn't sell it but nobody seen the point in letting it sit around. Sooooo $20 later I own a Sterling lol
One of the oil pipes broke off after we loaded it

$20 for a Sterling, nice!
That should make the restoration costs a little more manageable.
Is it just me, or does it seem like more people are getting sirens for some very good deals these days?

I was told it was from the 20's. It was replaced by a model 5 that was also removed and now sitting in a borough lot. I inquired about it a few years ago and they didn't want to sell it
