Albertville, AL & Boaz, AL Siren Hunt 10-7-14

Tue Oct 07, 2014 11:32 pm

Went out to Albertville and Boaz today to look at sirens and a few other things there. Here's the pictures I got from this trip.

The first siren I went to was the Thunderbeam Siren on Rose Road in Albertville, AL.

The second siren I went to was the Thunderbeam Siren at the Albertville Public Works in Albertville, AL.

The next siren I went to was the Whelen Vortex R4 at the Albertville Post Office in Albertville, AL.

After that, I went over to the Thunderbeam on North Street near the intersection of North Street and Martling Road. The controls are easier to reach on this one than the other two Thunderbeams in Albertville, but I couldn't read anything off of the tags on them.

The last siren I went to in Albertville was the Whelen Vortex R4 at Albertville High School.

The first siren I went to in Boaz, AL was the ASC OM-120 at Boaz High School.

Next, I went to the Sterling M in downtown Boaz at the Boaz Fire Department. This was probably Boaz's first siren. I'm not sure if it's an M-5 or an M-10.

The next siren I went to was the Whelen 2909 on Bethsaida Road near Trussell Court.

The last siren I went to on this trip was the ASC OM-120 at the intersection of AL 205 and Willard Avenue. This siren is just across the county line in Etowah County from Marshall County.

Very nice photos, thanks for sharing! (That omni Whelen is a 2909, by the way.)

Thanks! (I wasn't 100% sure if it was a 2809 or a 2909; I've seen similar looking 2809s in Marshall County)

That sterling looks like a dual tone M-10 to me

That Sterling is double 16 port. Look closely at the second picture of it.
